- choosing a topic and succinctly but thoroughly presenting the information,
- performing by being engaging and speaking with authority.

Lois Visited Yinnar Primary School – A school so committed to a philosophy about learning and effort rather than compliance and completing a task. The teachers and students explicitly develop the understanding that failure is just part of the journey and celebrating the steps not the finished product is more powerful. They recognise students for effort over outcome and give feedback that empowers students. There are five types of feedback; Confirmation, Corrective, Explanatory, Diagnostic, and Elaborative. Coaching teachers is an entrenched approach in the school, using video and analysis to move forward. Book discussions after school in place of meetings help to further knowledge and understanding. All teachers were given their own copies of the key books for their personal professional library when they teach at Yinnar PS.
